The inauguration of MIPIM 2022 was necessarily exceptional in nature after the previous editions were limited in size due to the health crisis. It was therefore in a very enthusiastic atmosphere that the United Grand Paris pavilion was opened by exhibitors, partners & visitors on Tuesday morning, March 15. The former president of the French Republic was able to highlight the assets of the capital region: 20 million s.qm of immediately available land opportunities, an innovative and ultra-connected territory, and a quality of life recognized worldwide.

Sustainable development and environmental responsibility were the themes that kicked off the conference program in the early afternoon. Grand Paris Aménagement stated that "2050 is being decided today" in its inaugural conference entitled "Building the city, anticipating the risks". The City of Paris confirmed the crucial importance of the environmental issue in its presentation "Accelerating the ecological transition in construction". United Grand Paris addressed these issues from the perspective of investment opportunities, in a conference featuring Bertrand Piccard.

Human capital and economic potential

During this first afternoon of meetings and conferences, Paris La Défense district presented the Hekla tower and the Rose de Cherbourg project, a formidable transformation of a motorway junction into soft links within a new park. The 2024 Olympic Games were also in the spotlight with its innovations in environmental sobriety and its nautical stadium in the north of Paris. PariSeine presented the rehabilitation work carried out on the Orion building, proving that 20th century heritage can become virtuous for the climate. Paris-Saclay, the university cluster south of Paris, presented its major innovation and development projects.

This dense program ended with meetings presenting the many real estate opportunities in the Paris Region, the sustainable and inclusive development of the territories and their attractiveness. As proof, in the latest FDI intelligence ranking "European Cities and Regions of the future 2022/23", Paris Region dominates the "Large European Regions of the Future" category in terms of economic potential, ahead of the Greater London area. It also wins in the "Human Capital and Lifestyle" category and is in the top 10 for connectivity, business quality and business investment. In 2022, there is more and more reason to "Choose Paris Right now!"
